In many cases, yes! Whether your existing frames can be reused depends on their condition, your prescription, and the type of lenses and lens options you choose.Even if your frames appear to be in great shape, replacing the lenses can place stress on the frame. Over time, normal wear and tear may create small cracks or weak points that aren't visible, which can increase the risk of breakage during the lens replacement process. The best way to know is to bring your frames to your nearest For Eyes location. Our trained associates will carefully inspect them and let you know if they're suitable for new lenses or if a new pair of frames would be the better option.

A comprehensive eye exam is an important part of protecting your vision and overall eye health. During your exam, your optometrist will evaluate how well you see, check the health of your eyes, and look for early signs of eye conditions and certain health concerns. If you need vision correction, your doctor will determine your prescription by testing for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and other vision needs. They will also perform a series of tests to help detect eye diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts as early as possible. At the end of your exam, your doctor will review your results, explain your prescription, answer any questions you may have, and recommend the best options for your vision needs. They may also suggest when you should schedule your next eye exam. If additional medical care is needed, your doctor may refer you to the appropriate specialist.

A comprehensive eye exam is recommended once a year. Regular eye exams help ensure your prescription is up to date, monitor your eye health, and detect potential issues before they affect your vision.Children should also have routine eye exams to support healthy vision and learning, while adults benefit from annual exams to monitor changes in vision and screen for eye diseases. Your optometrist may recommend more frequent exams based on your age, medical history, vision needs, or existing eye conditions.
-
The cost of an eye exam varies by doctor and location. For the most accurate pricing, please contactthe optometrist's office directly or your local For Eyes.If you plan to use vision insurance or other eligible benefits, be sure to let the office know when you call.
